Unique superdiffusion induced by directionality in multiplex networks

چکیده

Abstract The multilayer network framework has served to describe and uncover a number of novel unforeseen physical behaviors regimes in interacting complex systems. However, the majority existing studies are built on undirected networks while most systems nature exhibit directed interactions. Here, we propose analyze diffusive dynamics consisting at least one layer. We rigorously demonstrate that directionality can fundamentally change behavior dynamics: from monotonic (in systems) non-monotonic diffusion with respect interlayer coupling strength. Moreover, for certain configurations, induce unique superdiffusion regime intermediate values coupling, wherein is even faster than corresponding theoretical limit systems, i.e. integrated obtained aggregation each theoretically numerically show existence fully determined by layer topological overlap between layers. further provide formulation displaying superdiffusion. Our results highlight significance incorporating multilevel networked dynamical processes interconnected directionality.

Enhancing synchronization by directionality in complex networks

We propose a method called the residual edge-betweenness gradient (REBG) to enhance the synchronizability of networks by assigning the link direction while keeping the topology and link weights unchanged. Direction assignment has been shown to improve the synchronizability of undirected networks in general, but we find that in some cases incommunicable components emerge and networks fail to syn...

Congestion induced by the structure of multiplex networks

Multiplex networks are representations of multilayer interconnected complex networks where the nodes are the same at every layer. They turn out to be good abstractions of the intricate connectivity of multimodal transportation networks, among other types of complex systems. One of the most important critical phenomena arising in such networks is the emergence of congestion in transportation flo...

Heat superdiffusion in plasmonic nanostructure networks.

The heat transport mediated by near-field interactions in networks of plasmonic nanostructures is shown to be analogous to a generalized random walk process. The existence of superdiffusive regimes is demonstrated both in linear ordered chains and in three-dimensional random networks by analyzing the asymptotic behavior of the corresponding probability distribution function. We show that the sp...

Superdiffusion induced by a long-correlated external random force.

We consider a particle immersed in a thermal reservoir and simultaneously subjected to an external random force that drives the system to a nonequilibrium situation. Starting from a Langevin equation description, we derive exact expressions for the mean-square displacement and the velocity autocorrelation function of the diffusing particle. An effective temperature is introduced to characterize...

Multiplex Networks 1 Running Head: MULTIPLEX NETWORKS The Coevolution of Multiplex Networks in Organizational Communities

This research examines how multiplex organizational networks coevolve. Evolutionary and network theories were used to develop hypotheses about tie formation in both uniplex and multiple networks in organizational communities. Based on data between 1997 and 2005 collected from the records of development projects in the field of Information and Communication Technology for Development, the study ...
